Dear Friends,
Welcome to Lyon, the capital of chemistry and French cuisine, and to the Rhône-Alpes region, to which I am so deeply attached.
Despite the economic crisis - maybe even because of it - this event was able to see the light of day in Lyon, thanks to the sheer willpower of bitumen emulsion producers and their professional associations, in association with the organization committee.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their help.
Bitumen emulsion techniques are a key part of a vital issue: road network preservation. Used for repairs, structural maintenance and surface maintenance, bitumen emulsion techniques are the perfect answer to our customers’ needs in terms of long-lasting preservation of streets and roadways.
Once again, it is clear just how important a role they play in contributing to wealth and economic growth, while remaining fully in line with sustainable development targets: preserving non-renewable resources and biodiversity, reducing greenhouse gas emission and cutting energy consumption.
Today, we will see testimonials from all five continents about the latest cutting-edge developments in the field of bitumen emulsions, as well as the profession’s answers to new requirements in terms of budget and environmental issues.
Have a wonderful day and an excellent stay in Lyon.
Jean Claude Roffé, President, IBEF (International Bitumen Emulsion Fédération)
